Allow to disable automatic updates
I've had a few use cases for it already:
- when I was using mobile internet and didn't have a lot of bandwidth to waste. I've disabled automatic updates in VS Code, but didn't find such an option in GitKraken
- I've upgraded to v9, but on my machine, there are performance issues (huge CPU spikes). I've managed to install v8 alongside v9 and it works way better, but it tries to update to v9 every time I launch it.

Disabling of the update must possible when GitKraken would upgrade to Electron version 23. For users that run GitKraken on Windows 7/8 Electron 23 is not supported, see https://www.electronjs.org/blog/windows-7-to-8-1-deprecation-notice. Such an update indicate an breaking change as Windows 7/8 users will not able to use GitKraken any longer. In my opinion it should strongly avoided to upgrade to the next Electron version. GitKraken 9.6.1 already upgraded to Electron version 22. -

TonyDisabling automatic updates of the application would also help users who work in a managed enterprise environment.

Dusan MergedI know there is already a post about this topic but what I see unfair is that it is no longer being considered at all.
Guys, you did an amazing job and it's been along way to where you are. I congratulate you on that, I really do. But please pay more attention to what the community asks. We are all developers and are aware that bugs happen all the time, and without the possibility to disable automatic updates you are forcing us to use latest version in which some feature might be broken which is important to us. Yes, we will also have new stuff, but that can be irrelevant to us.
There is no longer a possibility to download a specific version and downgrade manually, so at least, please disable auto update and let us choose when to upgrade. Pushing notifications and informing us about the newest changes is totally fine.
Od suggestion:

dsmorseAgree the 9.x baseline was amazing.. the 10.x is painful, buggy and locks my compute and makes me curse the GUI and use the CLI

DaveWith the upcoming removal of custom themes in the next update, as mentioned in the release notes for the latest version that GK has updated to... Well, I would rather KEEP my custom theme, thank you. So I want to disable automatic updates , until such a time as the loss of custom themes is no longer going to happen. I think this is really silly that I can't disable these updates - there are many other reasons why users may not want an auto update forced upon them, especially if they have a very custom environment that a change in GK could break. I also cannot think of any software I have that has auto update that can't be disabled. This also appears to be a very long time requested 'feature' - I'd say it should be a REQUIREMENT of auto updating software that it can have the update mechanism disabled. Please listen to the users - that is what software is for - users.
