installation location
Provide an option to let the user choose the installation directory on Windows, instead of forcing the installation in C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\gitkraken.
# Folders
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\gitkraken
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\.gitkraken
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\GitKraken

Tom ParryYes I really need this "option".
I find it amusing that the GitKraken client is great the install is so very inadequate.
If you are using a commercial installer app this should be very easy to do.
If you are rolling your own code - then I guess it must be hard to figure out...
Until this is available I will not be able to use GitKraken in my re-installation process.
So sad. -

Christian Nørager-Nielsen MergedWe're working in a highly managed Windows environment where we cannot run executables in %localappdata% (actually any user-writable directory), as this poses a big risk.
We thus need programs to install in well-known program folders. -

AbdullahThis is a serious requirement for use in a enterprise environments. Please consider this and update us with some form of explanation as to why this isn't a feature yet/the blockers.
As others have said, in enterprise environments, we do not allow users to run executables in their user profiles so currently we are introducing huge risk by introducing exceptions for Gitkraken to run. -

Luis CozatlAgree with Abdullah, in enterprise environments may have strict blockers so GitKraken may not work properly if it is installed in different folder to the allowed by admins, this is serious and it is suggested since Dec 2021 :(

Karl D. of BHI.This is a requirement for me and my team, we will most likely be dropping using GitKraken because other git clients have support for this basic feature.

Frederic S.We need to install GitKraken on a specific folder in our organization. Otherwise, it refuses to start it and we need to re-install it each time to be able use it (as an instance is launched after the installation process).

BenYes please! With security policy these days and the need for fileless script execution, this is a must have.
