Open folder from CLI in opened instance

It would be super nice if when I do "gitkraken -p [folder]" in my terminal it opens the folder in an already opened GitKraken Client instance.
Currently, it only works for me when I have no GitKraken opened. I launch the command and the folder is opened. But if I have an already opened GitKraken the command does nothing.
Using Ubuntu 18.04.
