Filename filter for the unstaged and staged files sections
Hello,
The environment I'm working in sometimes automatically updates hundreds of files automatically, a lot of the times I'm not interested (but sometimes I am) in committing them into a branch. They are easily identifiable by a unique file extension.
Having all those files showing up in the unstaged and staged file sections makes it really difficult locating the files I really want to commit at times.
What I propose is to add a file filter section (much like the one already present when looking at old commits) for staged and unstaged files. It is however important that it works with filename wildcards which, much to my surprise, does not work in the aforementioned filter bar in the commit view.
Best regards
K

Doug WilsonI need this as well:
When upgrading dependencies in a VS Solution, I usually have other pending changes. The ability to apply a filter on only *.csproj files (for example) would make it much easier to batch the dependencies into one commit, leaving remaining changes for subsequent commits. -

Thomas GuentherYes, this is definetly a feature, that i need too for the same reason as Doug above. After updating some dependncies you may
have a bunch of changed config files. Then it's hard to sort out your changes on e. g. CS-files and the changed config files even if you have 50 or more projeczs in your solution (what is common for us).
