Refreshing on macOS creates a blindingly bright white screen that hurts my vampire eyes

I have to hit Cmd-R to refresh before each and every commit because I use a Samba share on my beefy, deep-learning, Linux machine that houses my GPUs and RAID-0 M2 drives, but I edit/run/debug my code on a MacBook Pro using an SSH tunnel in VS Code. Having a third copy of that repo on my laptop just doesn't makes sense, nor does rotating my chair 90 degrees and unlocking the screen of my Linux box for each commit.

I used to use VNC to access GitKraken on Linux from my Mac, but I can no longer afford to clog up my GPU memory when training large models.

When I hit Cmd-R to refresh before each commit on macOS, the entire window turns white for several seconds, which really hurts my eyes after using Dark Mode all day and night. And then, once that awful, white monstrosity disappears, the circular activity indicator is super sluggish and choppy. Looks like you guys are abusing the main thread. Should be an easy and quite welcomed fix.

Thanks,
Matt
